Temporarily Allow Third-Party Cookies for One Site in Chrome
By ON Lab · Sources checked November 6, 2026
When Chrome shows Third-party cookies blocked in the address bar for a site you trust, Google documents a temporary site-specific option: select that indicator, turn on Third-party cookies, and close the dialog to reload the page. This is a limited test, not proof that cookies caused a sign-in problem.
Check whether this control matches your situation
Third-party cookies come from sites other than the one whose address you are visiting. Embedded features can rely on them. Google says blocking them can prevent some sites from working as expected, but that does not establish the cause of every missing feature or failed login.
Use this option only when you trust the site and want to allow that use of cookies. If the documented indicator is absent, do not assume that a global permission change is required.
Make a bounded comparison
Our suggested checking method is to record the website and the particular action that fails before changing anything. After enabling the temporary option, close the dialog, let the page reload, and try that same action. Compare the result; do not treat an unrelated page loading as a successful test.
For example, if an embedded feature failed to appear, check that feature again. If it still fails, record that the exception did not resolve it. Repeatedly enabling wider permissions would not establish a cause.
Understand how long it lasts
Google states that in regular browsing the site is added to the exceptions list for 90 days or until you turn the setting off. In Incognito, the temporary setting lasts only for that Incognito session. It applies to the site you are on, rather than all websites.
Turn it off and verify
Use the address-bar Third-party cookies allowed indicator and turn the control off. Closing the dialog reloads the page; Google documents the indicator changing to reflect the allowed or blocked state.
You can also inspect Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies. Under sites allowed to use third-party cookies, Google documents removing an unwanted exception with the remove control beside the website. Check the exact entry before removing it.
Scope: a reversible, site-specific cookie permission test. No password reset, account-authentication workaround, guarantee of sign-in success, or deletion of browsing data is part of this guide.
